Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release new music through the internet including Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to work in conjunction with Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared as a guest on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. On November 9 the singer released two new singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles, titled No One as well as Pdigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then made the track available in a solo version for her debut album. This track, which was released with a video posted on YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first 7 days. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
